Professor Arup Ratan Bandyopadhyay, a distinguished professor of the Department of Anthropology at the University College of Science, Technology & Agriculture, University of Calcutta, recently undertook a visit to the Faculty of Science at Khon Kaen University (KKU) in Thailand on November 27-28, 2023. The primary objective of this visit was to engage in discussions related to forensic science and explore potential collaborations between the two institutions.
On November 27, 2023, Professor Bandyopadhyay visited the KKU Herbarium, where he met with Assoc. Prof. Pimwadee Pornpinrungruang, the associate dean for academic affairs, and Dr. Sukhum Ruangchai, the Assistant dean for international affairs.
The subsequent day, November 28, 2023, commenced with a tour guided by Assoc. Prof. Rachadaporn Benchawattananon, the head of Integrated Science, visiting the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Anatomy. Then in the afternoon, the professor visited the department of Integrated Science, Forensic Science program. Following the visit, Asst. Prof. Angkana Boonyued, the dean of the Faculty of Science and Asso. Prof. Rodjana Burakham, the associate dean for research, warmly welcomed Professor Arup Ratan Bandyopadhyay and presented him with a token of appreciation.
This visit is anticipated to strengthen the ties between the institutions and lay the groundwork for future collaborations, particularly in the field of forensic science.
