On November 30, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., a significant meeting took place at Vidyavibhasa Meeting Room 2 in the Vidyavibhasa Building, Faculty of Science. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pimwadee Pornpongrungruang, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; Dr. Sukhum Ruangchai, Assistant Dean for International Affairs and Public Communication; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adcharaporn Pagdee, Head of Environmental Science; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanokbhorn Phaosiri, Head of Chemistry warmly welcomed the management team from Chuxiong Normal University, China, led by Prof. Li Zhengwu, Vice President; Prof. Wan Xinchun, Director of the School of Fine Arts and Arts Design; Assoc. Prof. Xu Chengdong, Director of the School of Resources, Environment, and Chemistry; Prof. Zhou Yunyan, Director of the School of Mathematics and Computer Science; Asst. Prof. Li Guiping, Director of the School of Management and Economy; and Mr. Pan Lei, Interpreter.
Chuxiong Normal University offers a diverse range of 10 fields of study, including chemistry, geography, teaching science, natural resources, social geography, biology, horticultural studies, space design, wine making, and the wild mushroom processing industry. Notably, the latter two fields are only offered by two universities in China. The visiting faculty members represented four specific fields of study during this visit.
The primary goal of these discussions was to strengthen relationships and establish academic cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the university level. The emphasis was on short-term Thai-Chinese student exchange activities, teaching and learning exchanges, as well as facilitating the acceptance of students from Chuxiong Normal University to pursue master’s and doctoral studies at Khon Kaen University.
The focus of the discussions centered on collaborative efforts, aiming to establish a cooperation agreement and foster positive relationships between the institutions. The Faculty of Science aspires to engage in future cooperation across various fields.
