On August 30, 2023, a group led by Assoc. Prof. Sophon Boonlue, a lecturer in the Microbiology Department, and Ms. Sutthida Sesthamat, an international relations officer, embarked on an enlightening cultural exchange trip. The journey commenced with a visit to Wat Sanuan Wari Phatthanaram, an ancient temple nestled in Ban Phai district, Khon Kaen. This historical site boasts intricate paintings and timeless stories of Lord Buddha. The temple’s profound historical significance captivated the visitors. Following this enriching experience, around 10:00 AM, the group explored Sai-gnam Park in Nakhon Ratchasima province, an inviting public space adorned with magnificent banyan trees. These remarkable trees trace their lineage back to a 350-year-old mother tree, manifesting as a network of new trunks and an intricate labyrinth of banyan roots, resembling a captivating spider web.

The day’s journey culminated with a visit to the renowned “Phimai Historical Park” in Nakhon Ratchasima province. Mrs. Lucksanachit Khaipo, a knowledgeable guide, led the group through this remarkable site. Scholars speculate that “Phimai” holds deep religious or historical connotations.
