On November 29, 2022, the Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University (SC-KKU) welcomed a delegation from the College of Natural Sciences, Can Tho University (CNS-CTU), Vietnam, led by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tien, Vice Dean of CNS-CTU. He was joined by heads of departments and representatives of CNS-CTU as well as undergraduate students from different study programmes of the college.
The CNS-CTU team was given a warm welcome by the Faculty of Science Dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Angkana Boonyued, members of the administrative team and representatives from the departments of SC-KKU. The delegates were then given a tour of the nine departments of our faculty, where they discussed areas of cooperation with our staff of the respective departments
The visit was concluded with a further discussion on cooperation in the areas of research, education and student exchange.
Regarding our relationship with CTU, for a number of years, we have hosted students from the Biotechnology Research and Development Institute in the exchange programme where the students spent two days of their two-week visit at SC-KKU. In our discussing with CNS-CTU, a similar exchange programme is to be established on both sides.
To further strengthen our relationship with the college, the Faculty of Science plans to reciprocate the visit in the following year, which will allow us to engage more deeply with the leading university of the Mekong Delta Region of Vietnam.
